Since Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune debuted in 2007, the series has delivered blockbuster set pieces, memorable characters, cinematic storytelling, and some of gaming’s most recognizable adventures. But with multiple installments, each bringing something different to Drake’s journey—and The Lost Legacy expanding the universe beyond him—the question remains: which adventure stands above the rest?

For this ranking, we’re looking back across the major Uncharted adventures and ranking them from worst to best, taking into consideration the story, gameplay, characters, atmosphere, innovation, and lasting impact each entry left on the franchise.

The game that started it all. Drake’s Fortune introduced treasure hunter Nathan Drake, journalist Elena Fisher and Victor Sullivan (“Sully”) as they search for the legendary lost treasure of El Dorado. It established the series’ signature combination of third-person shooting, climbing, exploration, puzzles and cinematic storytelling.

Nathan Drake returns to hunt for the lost city of Shambhala and the Cintamani Stone. The adventure takes Drake across Nepal, Borneo and Tibet while introducing Chloe Frazer to the series.
